Odessa Bronchos Chase First Title Since 1946
It's been 77 years since the Bronchos won a state championship.
Odessa's only UIL football title came in 1946, when the Bronchos won the 2A championship with a 21-14 victory over San Antonio Jefferson. That's nearly eight decades of football without a state crown.
This season, the Bronchos will be hunting for their first title since that postwar run. Every team in Texas is 0-0 right now, but Odessa carries the weight of that long drought.
