Monahans chasing first title since 1948
The Lobos won their only state championship 76 years ago with a shutout.
Monahans captured its sole state title in 1948, blanking New Braunfels 14-0 in the 1A championship game. That remains the program's only UIL state crown.
The Lobos enter this season looking to end the longest championship drought in school history. Monahans hasn't won a state title in three-quarters of a century.
