Houston Wheatley's Championship Legacy
Wildcats won back-to-back titles in 1944 and 1954, the latter a shutout over Waco Moore.
Houston Wheatley Wildcats claimed two state championships according to UIL records: 1944 and 1954. The program's most recent title came in 1954 when Wheatley defeated Waco Moore 13-0 in the PVIL 3A championship game.
That shutout victory remains a high point in program history. As Wheatley prepares for the new season, the Wildcats will look to build on a foundation laid nearly 70 years ago.
