Corpus Christi Ray chases first title since 1959
The program's only state championship came 65 years ago with a dominant defensive performance.
Corpus Christi Ray won its lone state title in 1959, when the team defeated Wichita Falls 20-6 in the 4A championship game. That victory remains the program's high-water mark across nearly seven decades of football.
As the Indians prepare for the 2024 season, that championship blueprint from the Eisenhower era still stands as the standard. No Corpus Christi Ray team has reached a state final since.
