Breckenridge Buckaroos Chasing First Title Since 1959
Six state championships sit in the trophy case. The program hasn't won since Eisenhower's first term.
Breckenridge's last state title came in 1959, when the Buckaroos beat Cleburne in the 3A championship. That was 65 years ago. The program's six titles span from 1929 to 1959, with back-to-back championships in 1951 and 1952.
This season, Breckenridge gets another shot at ending the drought. The Buckaroos open with a chance to write the next chapter in a storied but dormant program.
