Austin Anderson Trojans Chase First Title Since 1961
Program looks to end 63-year drought after four state championships in the PVIL era
Austin Anderson won its last state title in 1961, when the Trojans defeated Houston Yates 20-13 in the PVIL 4A championship game. That victory capped a dominant run: the program also won titles in 1957, 1956, and 1942.
With preseason underway, the Trojans have a chance to add to that legacy this fall. Austin Anderson's four championships rank among the most successful programs in Texas high school football history.
